The Refoška Festival has been held in Marezige continuously since 1972. In four decades, this event has grown from the Refoška Exhibition, where winegrowers from Slovenian Istria began to promote their noble product, which was little known in most of Slovenia at the time. a great holiday for winegrowers and all lovers of this precious drop, which promotes the quality of wines, wine culture, ethnological and cultural heritage of the Istrian countryside, which attracts thousands of visitors every year.
The holiday in Marezige is a holiday of all winegrowers from the whole district. At the wine evaluation, the best refoški and malvasia are selected, which are served every three days with a culinary offer of typical home-made dishes. The expert commission also evaluates bottled wines, from Muscat, Pinot Gris and Chardonnay among whites, to Merlot, Cabernet and Shiraz among reds. These wines are offered and presented by the winegrowers themselves at the wine fair as part of the holiday.
